  1. How do I make reservation?

    You can book our vacation home by clicking the booking link found on this site. This will take you to VRBO site, our booking manager. If you would like to get more information before booking, please send us inquiry about your group and the dates you would like to book. After checking our calendar, we will send you a quote promptly. In addition to booking online, we also accept direct payments by credit card, check or cash. 50% is due at the time of booking, and 50% is due 30 days before check-in. Once initial payment is received the house is booked for you and confirmation email sent out shortly thereafter.

  2. Am I renting the full house?

    Yes. You are renting the full house. The entire house is accessible to guests, inside and outside, except the garage where we stock supplies for you and future guests. Guests may park cars on the drive way of the house or on the street in front of the house. Plenty of parking space.

  3. How do I get the keys?

    We will normally wait for you at the house when you arrive. Please let us know when you will likely arrive at the house and we will make sure that we will be there for you. We will show you around the house to make sure that you know where things are. We will then hand you over the keys and leave you our contact information in case you need to reach us anytime. In the event you arrive very late at night, we will make arrangements for you to pick the keys at some place in the premises. If necessary, we will follow up with you by phone or text messages to make sure that all is well.

  4. How do I check out?

    You can leave us the keys at kitchen counter and close the door behind you. Before you check out, kindly please send us text message or call us and let us know you are checking out. Alternatively we can also meet you at the house and receive the keys from you in person, provided it is not very early in the morning or late night at night.

  5. How do I handle garbage and trash?

    Garbage and recycling bins are available in the backyard. You can sort out your trash and dispose accordingly. We have extra garbage bags inside the drawers inside the kitchen. They are marked for easy access.

  6. Are there washer and dryer inside the house?

    Yes, there are washer and dryer inside the house, on the way to the garage. To help us maintain appliances in good order, please make sure that you read the instructions posted on the appliances before operating the washer and dryer.

  7. Is the area safe?

    Union City, CA, is a very safe place to live in. In particular the area where our house is located is a residential area of single family homes. Many of the homes around our house are owned by original home owners 25-30 years ago. It is safe and quiet place to stay.

  8. How do I get around the Bay Area?

    In general, we recommend that you have a rental car. However, public transportation is also available. The BART station,  a public transport that operates trains to San Francisco, is about 4 miles from us. The bus that takes you there stops one block from our house. There is also a Dumbarton bus system that takes you across the Dumbarton bridge to Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Sanford University, etc.

  9. How do I reach you if I need something or have questions?

    We will leave you information package inside the house. Included in the package will be our contact info by telephone, text, and emails. You can reach us almost any time. We will respond to you right away.

  10. Is the house stocked with items I need?

    The house is stocked with many items you will need. You have many towels, liquid soaps and shampoo, toilet papers, paper towels, etc. Extra towels, bed sheets, and blankets in room closets. We have pots, plates, glasses, cups, etc., in kitchen cabinets. We also have some welcome package to get you started – a welcome basket of some goodies, water bottles in the refrigerator, tea and coffee in the kitchen counter, etc.. If there is anything else you will need from us, please call us.

  11. How is the house maintained?

    The house is delivered to you clean. For short time stays, like 7 days or less, it is your responsibility to maintain the house that way during your stay. For longer stays, we provide an option for periodic cleaning for additional fees. Please let us know if you are interested in this. In the backyard, we have the pool cleaner coming to clean the pool during weekdays between 9am and 5pm. The landscapers come once every two week, usually on weekends. If you see one of these people cleaning in the yard, don’t worry, it is OK.

  12. Any suggestions about area restaurants and shops?

    We have information package for you regarding the house and the area, including area shops and restaurants and attractions. You can find it inside the family room located downstairs. Please read the information package. If you have any questions, please call us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
